Luke 17:21 tells us to “Behold, The Kingdom of God is in your midst. Jesus was of course, reminding the pharasies that their desire to know when and where the Kingdom of God would come was a useless question.
Christ was standing in front of them, the entire rule and reign of God, – HIS Kingdom, and they couldn’t tell.
Today, Christian women often struggle with the same challenge as the Pharisees, we so desperately want to do the work of the Kingdom, to be His good and faithful servants. But we overlook some of the most obvious ways in which we can invest in the Kingdom of God.
3 of The Best Ways Christian Women Can Invest In The Kingdom Of God
Too often, we tend to think about investing our money in things outside ourselves. The stock market is an obvious example. Or maybe something a little closer to home, like the building fund at your church or some other worthy cause.
When we make these kinds of investments we feel good about ourselves for helping the community and doing something for the greater good. And there’s nothing wrong with that.
The problem is when we fail to aknowledge the importance of investing in the one thing we actually have control over, which is ourselves. The Problem with Christian women is that we invest in everyone and everything but ourselves. The one thing we have real control over, and we neglect it. Click To Tweet
It’s tempting to think that other people, other projects and other ideas are all
There are very important dreams, visions, and ideas that God has only given to you. And, if you don’t accomplish them, no one else will. Your dreams are
Invest In The Temple
Back in the day when the Spirit of God, dwelt in the tabernacle or the temple at Jerusalem, His people went out of their way to it special. God gave special instructions on exactly how it should look, with gold and silver, and a beautiful pattern of colors. It was truly impressive. And even the disciples of Jesus were taken in by the splendor of it all.
Some of his disciples were remarking about how the temple was adorned with beautiful stones and with gifts dedicated to God. But Jesus said, 6 “As for what you see here, the time will come when not one stone will be left on another; every one of them will be thrown down.”Luke 21:5-6
Only Jesus unimpressed. Even though most of the design ideas had come from The Father himself, and were inspired by the Holy Ghost, Jesus knew that God wants to dwell somewhere far more magnificent.
He wants to live in each one of us. And for those who have
You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.
Now, most of us know that on some level, but I want you to really consider the significance of it. And I want you to be really honest with yourself, are you giving your physical body the respect it deserves, considering what it contains?
- Do you get enough rest, healthy food, exercise?
- Are taking care of your own physical needs?
- When you get sick do you take time to get well?
- What’s your environment like, does it promote your well being?
There are so many of you who feel guilty and self-indulgent whenever you take some time for yourself. And I want to tell you right now, that there’s nothing Biblical about self-imposed suffering!
You play a very important role in the Kingdom of God. Therefore, one of the best ways to invest in the kingdom is to take care of yourself. This isn’t indulgent, it’s a sign of respect. You are showing RESPECT for the creator of your body, when you take care of yourself.
Let me be clear, I am absolutely talking about a financial investment here. A lot of ladies will do something nice for themselves as long as it doesn’t cost anything. But if the reason you’re not going for a daily walk is because your sneakers are too old and worn out, go and buy yourself and new pair of sneakers.
If you’re always putting others ahead of yourself, whether it’s your kids, your husband, the church or whoever, you’re doing your loved ones a disservice. They will benefit far more from a healthier, stronger, smarter you than an exhausted, bitter, grumpy version. Basically a walking martyr.
Invest In The Mind Of Christ
The entire battle over the Kingdom of God takes place in your mind. The Kingdom of God is where the rule of God is acknowledged and obeyed. And yet, this is one of the most overlooked investment opportunities.
Think about this; in a physical battle, how much does a nation spend on equipping their army? The costs of weapons, armour, training, vehicles etc is astronomical. It’s where most of a nations budget goes.
In the USA, over 50% of the national budget goes to the military. Why, because protecting the country’s assets are important. But consider how much you personally spend to protect yourself against the enemy?
How much of your financial budget goes to equiping yourself to fight the battle against the enemy? This is a very important question to consider. In my opinion, far too many Christians feel terribly overwhelmed by the battle and when you consider the fact that they’ve never invested in equipping and defending themselves, it’s painfully obvious why their feeling that way.
Now, we know that our weapons of warfare are not carnal, but mighty for pulling down strongholds. Most Christians are familiar with the obvious ones like prayer and fasting. These are absolutely essential. But just like the physical millitary, it’s imporatnt to have a variety of options available and a strategy for using them.

Invest In Your Time.
Your time here on earth is short. And so, if you are going to be a good steward of God’s gifts you must learn to use your time wisely.
Today there are so many opportunities to get distracted. Do you even remember the last time you were bored? Like, honestly, seriously bored?
Probably not, because we have a world of distractions available to us at our fingertips.
Our smart phones have become on of the most amazing tools for good, being connected and allowing us the freedom to work from almost anywhere. But they’ve also begun to eat up all our time and energy.
How many times have you caught yourself 45 minutes in to a twitter binge, or a watching facebook video after facebook video of cats, dogs and babies?
Or, for those who have yet to conquer the sins of the flesh, have found themselves drifting from watching some dance video with a lot of grinding and thrusting to full-blown hardcore porn.
Due to the fact that my post on masturbation is by far one of the most popular posts on this blog, I know that this is an issue that is affecting so many Christian women. So if you’re one of them, I don’t want you to feel ashamed, but I do want you to know that there is a way out. Again, this (masturbation/ fornication and/or pornography) is one of the things that I help Christian women overcome through coaching.
If you’d like help dealing with any of these issues, know that it is one of the best investments you can make in the kingdom of God. Book a free coaching call for yourself HERE.
Satan Wants To Waste Your Time
Satan knows that if he can waste your time than he has a lot less to worry about. The fact is that Satan knows how powerful you are and how much damage you’re capable of doing to his plans. He has been working against you for a long time to keep you from becoming aware of your own importance and power.
Today, make a decision to take back control. Look at where you’re spending your time. Is it intentional?
Those little time suckers can really add up over the course of a year. Take the 15 minutes, or 2 hours you spend every day doing something and multiply it by 365.
Even if it’s just 15 minutes a day, over the course of a year, that’s almost 4 full days. Do you really want to be giving that kind of time and attention to that activity.
If you’re spending 2 hours a day doing something, like watching netflix or on social media, that’s a full 30 days in a year. A MONTH. Would you intentionally choose to spend a full month doing that?
Some people are going to say yes, that thing is important to me. In which case I say go for it. But if you look at the numbers and realize that you’d like to take back that time and invest it in something more worthy, I want to encourage you to do so. Because a life spent watching other people’s drama is no way to live.
So there you have it. 3 ways to invest in the kingdom of God. Not every investment needs to be outside of yourself. It’s actually very beneficial and Biblical to invest in yourself. You are the only person you actually have any real control over. Bet on Christ in you. Know that you are a worthy investment. You are the temple. You have the mind of Christ and your time on earth is limited. So stop and really think about how you want to spend your resources.
“ For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. “
– Matthew 6:21
Now It’s Your Turn.

Where have you already invested and what would you like to change?
Do you consider yourself a worthy investment?
